The oldest mosque of Iran is Jame Mosque of Fahraj which is located in a village with the same name in the province of Yazd.
The mosque is 1400 years old and historians estimate the history of the village to go back to 5000 years ago.
The architecture of the mosque is simple and has no tile work. It is mostly built by materials like sun-dried bricks. It has also a clay minaret.
